The Finding GodsWay Statement of Faith |
Although we provide "good works" for the UM church and ministries it is not works that saves us.
It is our faith in Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross. We do good works because
we are saved, not to receive salvation.
We believe Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior. What He did for us on the cross
gives us victory over sin and freedom from death. By Jesus suffering on
the cross we are wiped clean and justified in God's eyes. Our faith (first and foremost)
remains on Jesus and what he did for us at the cross. Our glorious prize in keeping our faith
is eternal life and we will live and reign with our Lord forever.
We believe the Bible is inspired by God and is the absolute truth.
It is our prayer and our belief that God is using the United Methodist church and ministries
to reach out and spread the Gospel especially in these last days. |

The Finding GodsWay Story |
In 2003 our UM church needed a web site. However, they had very
little money to spend and didn't have any members in their congregation
who were qualified for the task of designing and maintaining a web site.
Month after month, we sat in Administrative Council meetings discussing
the church's need for a good interactive web site that would help draw people
to our church and ministry. We started by looking into web template services.
At first, we were excited. The idea seemed simple enough but we soon
found the service was limited and, most importantly, it required
someone with web expertise to maintain the site. Next, we
looked into hiring a company to build our web site for us but quickly
became discouraged. Their prices were way out of our budget. In addition,
we were asked to sign contracts that were filled with heavy maintenance,
search engine optimization (SEO), and advertising fees. We were getting
no where fast.
The Idea:
Then one day an idea hit me. I had a background in graphic design and had
owned a small graphics company. My best friend, also a Christian, had a
background in development and programming. He agreed that if we teamed
up and pooled our resources and talents we could build our church the
web site they wanted. I met with my pastor and told her our idea. After
listening, she asked me a few questions including if I would meet with a
friend of hers at our local conference to get his opinion. I obliged.
After presenting the idea, he asked if we might consider offering this to
all of the UM churches and ministries. The thought of providing this type
of service to everyone had never even occurred to us.
Following the Voice:
As Christians wanting to follow the Lord and understanding the Great Commission,
we prayerfully considered our options. Our biggest obstacle was determining how
to provide this service affordably as programming web sites is very labor intensive.
If we were to do this, we wanted to give EVERY UM church and ministry the opportunity
for a great interactive web site at a price they could afford. Finally, we figured out
a solution. We could pre-build databases to house interactive features
such as online calendars, libraries, etc. Then when a ministry needed those features
we simply plug them into their web site. This would require a lot less programming on
each individual site and would ultimately keep our labor costs down. That was the
turning point and from then on we knew we could do this.
The Solution:
We spent two years developing databases and building Finding GodsWay into what it
is today. Our business model is simple: Always do our very best to give your church
and ministry exactly what you need. Now when your UM church or ministry needs a site,
we design it specifically for you, give you great interactive features and
maintain or manage your site too. Later when your church needs web page
revisions, simply upload the text and/or pictures and we make those changes for you.
If you don't want to spend a fortune developing your web site or rely on volunteers
to maintain your site, we are here. Finding GodsWay has proven to be a great
solution for the ministry!
Today Finding GodsWay has been in operation for five years
and we are continuing to grow. We provide web development and management services
to all UM churches and UM Ministries all across the nation. Finding GodsWay has been
a great ministry and a fantastic solution for many UM churches and ministries.
